Alright, so in The Legend of Tianding, you play as Liao Tianding (aka Liāu Thiam-Ting), this epic vigilante from early 1900s Taipei. Think Robin Hood vibes but with Kung Fu and way more style. You’re out here robbing the rich, helping the poor, and fighting for justice while dodging the Colonial Japanese authorities who really want to catch you.

The game’s based on real-life stuff—actual events, real people, and real situations—and it’s all done in the cool, retro style of Traditional Chinese Manga.

Why It’s Awesome

Kung Fu Action: You fight like a total boss with a tanto, waist sash, and slick Kung Fu moves. Pull off crazy combos, steal enemy weapons, and use a grappling hook to zip around the battlefield. Oh, and the boss fights? Think deadly courtesans, corrupt businessmen, and military leaders.
Early 1900s Taipei: The game lets you explore what Taipei’s Dadaocheng area looked like back then. Run through colorful streets, escape on trains, and even crawl through sewers.
Power Ups: You can tweak how you play with talismans. Want more health from food? Faster stamina recovery? Less damage? There’s a talisman for that.
Mini-Games and Extras: Chill with a traditional Taiwanese board game called Four Color Cards or prove you’re the best with online leaderboards and a Boss Rush mode.
